Kidsciple returns September 12 at 6:30pm. Kidsciple is a high energy, mid-week program for 4-year-olds through 6th graders. The name Kidsciple was created by conjoining the two primary goals of the program. One, a program just for kids. A place where they can relax, have fun, burn off energy, and just be kids! The second goal is teaching kids what a disciple is and training them to be a disciple of Jesus. Kid-sciple.
We take into great consideration what these kids experience in their typical daily lives. Those attending school have been required to sit in classrooms and absorb head knowledge for over half of their waking hours. For this reason, we encourage kids to come in and make themselves at home. Upon entering the Gray Zone during Kidsciple one of the first sights is a pile of shoes on the stage. The second sight is a bunch of kids playing together, running around, being loud and having fun.
Each week of Kidsciple introduces a new element. The weekly element teaches and demonstrates another way to follow after Jesus and become more like Him. The virtue topic is shown through a Bible story, an illustration, memory verse, and game. Most weeks children are broken into smaller, kid-led, groups to discuss the virtue or delve into a project that helps dive deeper into the virtue.
Each week is filled with organized chaos, and it’s wonderful! If your child is 4 years old through 6th grade, we will enjoy having them join us. There are also some volunteer positions open if you are interested in tapping into your inner child and can allow yourself to participate in the organized chaos!
